Toyota just showed off a bunch of concept cars as a preview of what it has for the future up to 2030. Naturally, Lexus is an important part of it, and it had its own group of vehicles to show off. , including the production RZ 450e. Not only that, the company announced that it will have a full line of electric cars with the goal of having all of its sales in North America, Europe and China be electric. By 2035, Lexus will only sell electric cars.
The production RZ 450e is at the head of the range of future electric cars. Unfortunately, no specification was given. It looks very close to the LF-Z concept car from the start of the year, but with some of the finer details cleaned up and some of the character lines amplified. We wouldn’t be surprised if it is closely related to the Toyota bZ4X under the metal.
The other vehicles presented were concepts that probably foreshadowed future Lexus models. The highlight of the show is electrified sport. He has exaggerated curves, an incredibly long nose, and a remarkable look. Lexus said it should have eye-catching performance as well. It’s apparently LFA-inspired and should be able to hit 60 mph in the low 2 second range. And speaking of range, the company estimated a range of around 435 miles, and the power could potentially be provided by solid-state batteries.
The other two vehicles featured were a sedan and an SUV, simply referred to as an electrified sedan and an electrified SUV. The sedan shares styling cues with the sports coupe, but naturally a little toned down. The electrified SUV looks like a more boxy, taller version of the RZ. Proportionately, it looks like it could have three rows of seats, and it looks like it’s the next electric Lexus after the RZ.
