About four years after opening, a South Rochester auto dealership was expanding.
Construction is expected to begin soon on a 10,000 square foot addition to the Rochester Subaru dealership at 4840 Maine Ave. SE.
General manager Todd Penz said Subaru needs more space as car sales increase and more customers are looking for the dealership to take care of their vehicles.
“We’re adding 11 more technician positions … It’s part of our end-to-end vehicle solution that makes shopping and buying a vehicle as easy as possible,” he said. âThis will increase our ability to serve more people faster and provide more efficient service. “
The goal is to complete construction of the addition, which will also expand the parts department and the dealership park, by mid-winter.
With more bays and a larger rooms area, Penz plans to need to add more employees to their team of 70.
The dealership opened as Clement Chevrolet Cadillac Subaru in October 2016. In December 2017, Dan Penz and his son, Todd, parted ways with Clements and officially bought the Subaru dealership.
Les Penze acquired two more Rochester dealerships – Buick GMC and Nissan – from the Twin Cities-based company Lupient Automotive Group in 2019.
